It gets worse, the thing I personaly believe will do the planet in is "The rise of slime". Excessive nutrient discharge into the oceans causing surges of plancton and such, raising temps, blocking sunlight lower down, and lots more. I think that unless the whole of the industrialized world suddenly shrinks by at least aprox 30% we are going to end up mighty screwed.
