Here is a tale of the invasion of the Ukraine by Germany during WWII as told in sand by the 2009 winner of the Ukraine's Got Talent, Kseniya Simonova. The imagery is simply amazing and powerful as she shows tranquil life being disrupted by war. Life, death, memory and love are depicted simply through the use of sand, a light table and a pair of hands.

The words in the final scene translate to "You are always near."

It had me in tears at the end. Beautiful. Simply beautiful.

i have come to find that music defines the soundtrack of my life. at times, if i stop to listen to whatever music is playing in the background i am not surprised to discover that the words or simply the music describes what i currently happening.

one of the music groups i have come to love is dead can dance i often play their albums by setting my ipod to randomly play all their songs. their music can be described as creating an aural landscape.

the above video is from their album the serpent's egg which came out in 1988. the song is the host of seraphim. watching it i feel the hair on my arms stand up.

a former campaign staffer for al franken, dusty trice, is teaching his dog to say "Obama" when asked "Who's your President?"

it looks to me like she is getting the hang of it.

i am of the mind that each platform has its uses. a computer is merely a tool to be used. each will perform tasks better than the other and vice versa.

this video by kate bush came out in 1986. due to the violence portrayed it was not shown on some british outlets. as the world has progressed in the last twenty three years with war i do not find the theme of this video to be that far fetched of a military experiment gone horribly wrong.

if you pay attention you may catch a glimpse of hugh laurie of "house" fame making an appearance.
