looking at change

it would appear that if i desire to keep verizon as my cellphone carrier i may have to change my phone number from a california number to a local one. i have had my cellphone for twelve years with the same number. i suppose i should wait to see which portions of verizon in california get sold off.
gods, i despise AT&T and sprint cellphone services. too familiar with them through various companies i have worked for where they were the provider for the cellphones employees carried.
verizon told to sell assets
dept of justice press release of the divestiture order
looking at the list i am currently living in an area not affected so i can transfer my account to oregon or washington without worrying about being sold off if i need to.
for now i shall wait to see what happens. hopefully the southern california region will not be sold off as i don't think alltel conducts business there.
