wizard world
Mar. 18th, 2006 04:19 pma couple friends and i went to wizard world los angeles today. first time i have ever attended one.
some things struck me when i entered the exhibit hall. for one thing a lack of noise. or i should say the lack of the constant hum generated in a room with 10's of 1,000s of people. there was sound, but not of the same intensity as heard at the san diego comic-con. you could actually talk to someone and be heard.
the energy was much more relaxed compared to the frenetic atmosphere at the san diego show.
the other thing that struck me was the number of empty tables and booths. was it due to the exhibitors not coming because they found out tomorrow shall be the l.a. marathon where all of downtown los angeles becomes gridlock beyond compare to any other event in l.a. i was surprised that they didn't have a waiting list of exhibitors to sell the empty space to in order to present a full hall.
saw old friends and exhibitors there. once again talked to and i think i have actually finally managed to cajole "utilikilts" into having a booth this year. i have been trying for four years to get them to exhibit at the san diego show. my fingers are crossed they will indeed be there.
remember, just like last year, saturday, july 22 will be the official kilt day at the con. wear yours proudly!
